About Me:

Impact
I use reusable materials at every possible opportunity. i.e. tuperware, resuable grocery bags, reusable coffee mugs
I buy only locally-grown produce (Ontario/Québec) and preserve fruits and vegetables for the winter.
In Canada, each meal we consume travels, on average, over 5000 km to reach our plates. Consider every orange from Florida, every pear from California. Then consider products like bananas, coffee, chocolate, and sugar, that not only consume vast amounts of fossil fuels in their production and transport, but often by purchasing these products, we are indirectly facilitating the socially unjust treatment of the farmers and producers of many of these crops. By voting with our dollars, we support a shift to local trade and consumption, both at home and at these previously exploited locales. Not to mention; you can't beat those delicious local, seasonal strawberries!
