Tailgate Recycling | Georgia Southern University
Keep Bulloch Beautiful will be hosting the Tailgate Recycling program for the fifth year this season! GSU is teaming up with Keep Bulloch Beautiful and volunteers to promote recycling at all GSU home football games, inside and outside of the stadium. The goal is to reduce the amount of waste generated at the games and to establish routine recycling habits among fans.
Last year’s the Tailgate Recycling program averaged 1,000-1,200 pounds of recyclables collected and diverted from the landfill at each game! Volunteer duties include the following:
- Meet 4 hours prior to kick-off to organize recycling efforts in the tailgating area
- Set up recycling bins in tailgating area
- Pass out recycling bags to fans in the tailgating area for their recyclables
- Hand out bags to cars entering in the stadium encouraging recycling
- Assist in the collection of bags and break down of recycling bins 30 mins prior to kick-off
