I've started a community market in my town
- to provide fresh, affordable, healthy food for local people
- to provide a direct sales outlet for small scale producers and craftspeople
- to help new local businesses get started
- to allow ongoing fundraising opportunities for community groups and initiatives
With the excessively expensive rents charged in Mataura for commercial properties (read more about this here), it is imperative for the growth and prosperity of Mataura that we have a venue available for local entrepreneurs to get started with their business enterprises.
I am looking for mentoring, encouragement and advice from anyone with experience in starting off this kind of initiative.

I fill my reusable water bottle from the tap instead of using plastic bottles shipped round the country.
The number of miles plastic water bottles travel is difficult to measure, but the quantity of water you consume is easy.
