At the end of our street in Santa Cruz there is a great farmer's market and I've noticed over the past year that the signage has moved from

'organic' to 'picked this morning and travelled 17.5 miles'.

Wow! It's getting really local and very clearly low footprint. What are you noticing at your market?

There are 2 big farmer's markets in the Little Rock area. One if them is "Certified Arkansas" products. This boils down to the fact that everything sold there has to be grown in Arkansas, or the vendor loses his/her place in the market. Since nothing is more than 3 hours from Little Rock (basically), you feel good knowing your food didn't come by plane, train, and automobile from somewhere far away. Also, you're helping to support agriculture within the state!
