Gas is sky-rocketing and no amount of drilling is going to generate the amount of oil needed to fuel the world at our current rate of consumption. Yes, there are 'alternative' fuels beginning to emerge into the market, but so far, they are only giving us that: an alternative—substitute one fossil fuel with another, maybe with a PR makeover (I'm looking at you coal, ahem, clean coal). Instead of continuing down this destructive path, why don't we go back to the human-powered means of transportation we were all born with.

Take a walk to that restaurant with your partner; it turns out it's a lovely way to build up an appetite and quite a romantic way to start off a meal.

Headed down to the farmer's market, don't jump in the gas-guzzler, hop on your bike.

Whatever you do, don't drive. There's plenty of other ways to get around. Hey, not only will you save some money by saving gas and help keep the air cleaner, you might even lose a few pounds while you're at it. What's not to love?
