Project Summary:
Dream Project
THE DREAM PROJECT
The Dream Project is a junior-high and high-school educational program that empowers students to see themselves and relate to one another as leaders that embody global responsibility, compassion, and desire to use their talents to create a world that works for everyone.
Created and taught by Kelly Sullivan Walden, the program is already a huge success in SMASH, a progressive school of choice in the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District, and in the CELERITY Nascent Charter School in Los Angeles' inner-city Crenshaw district. The Dream Project was also recently integrated into an award winning high school film program in Effingham, Illinois headed by Joe Fatheree, Illinois Teacher of the Year, and Craig Lindvahl, an Emmy award-winning documentary filmmaker.
Because of the success of the program, The Dream Project has been urged by educators and parents to create a replicatable model that can be shared with educators, youth leaders, parents, and communities throughout the United States as well as the world.
