Description
Design a poster to promote energy conservation. It will contain information on facts or figures on energy use. The poster will give people ideas on how to save energy, whether you focus on one topic (example: light bulbs) or energy saving as a whole. The poster will be judged on its effectiveness and design. Tasks:Task #1: Prep- Research and find a way to conserve energy. As well as the facts and figures surrounding it.
- Remember that your poster will give people ideas on how to save energy.
- You can focus on one topic (example: light bulbs) or energy saving as a whole.
- Think of and list images that can help represent your method of energy conservation.
- Do some rough sketches for your poster design. Use your skills from the lessons in composition to layout the objects in your poster
- Create a document size 11 x 17”
- Design your Poster using your skills in:
- Composition – Dynamic vs. Static
- Colour Theory – Contrast vs. Harmonized
- Typography – font, style, weight, spacing, size, colour, placement, direction, & shape
- Photoshop Filters – Add interest to an otherwise ordinary object
- Keep in mind the following requirements:
- Paper size is 11 x 17”
- File needs to be 300 dpi and saved as a jpeg
- All content must be appropriate for a high school audience.
- The overall impression should be “eye catching”
Task #3: Submission
1. Select "2007 - Poster Design - AWS4M", under "My Projects"
2. Select "Stories"
3. Click on "Create a New Story" button
4. For the following fields fill out:
- Story Name: <Your Name> - Poster Design
- Short Description: <Your Name> - Poster Design to promote energy conservation for Mr. Loo's 2007 AWS4M class
- Story Type: Text with an optional image
- Image for this story: upload your poster image
- Your Story: Write out your idea to promote energy conservation and the facts and information surrounding it
5. Drop off in my drop-off folder.
6. Hand in to me:
- This Assignment Sheet (-1 mark for not handing the assignment sheet in)
- Final piece printed out in colour
