Brydons amazing water adventure
How I got my water for science class.
I went out at 6:55 to get my water sample from a river near my house. Later I tested the water and found out that the water had low nitrate, phosphate and dissolved oxygen levels. Also it has coliform so it isn’t drinkable. If there was a problem I would get it checked by professionals and if they also found this I would inform the city and see if there was anything I could do to fix the problem

My awsome action plan
The water in my tap That I checked.
In the mornin at around 6:40 I got a water bottle and filled it to the top with cold tap water. I Washed out the water bottle espesially around the lip area to make sure it wasnt contaminated be family spit. I brought my water to school and found out it had to much coliform and to much phosphate in it I am hoping that i got this test wrong because this could be bad for my health. because of this I am getting my water checked out at a water checking place or the ministry of health and let them fix it. It doesnt bother me that much cause I drink my water not very much i drink bottled water.(Story converted to an Impact Story by Zazengo) 75

Cassidy Wilsons action plan
On thursday morning i got up axtra early so that i could get my water sample from a nearby stream.
On thursday morning before leaving to go to the bus i got a water bottle and clean out thouroghly making sure it was clean and completely dry. I then left my house extra early to walk to a nearby stream and recieve my water sample. I then went to school and gave my teacher(mr. McIntre) my water sample so that it could be kept cold. Then during second period the serious of test that we had to take on our water were preformed and after 60h we did our single test tube. Finally after5 day we did our BOD 5-day.(Story converted to an Impact Story by Zazengo) 74

Action Plan!!
Mike B's action plan for his backyard pond.
I got my water a day in advance from a pond which insadently is near my well so maybe some of my results were affected by that. I was a little worried that the water might be toxic seeing as my family always spots animals (racoons, porkypines etc..) near the pond. Everything looked fairly normal, for a pond that is, except the ph which was high for some odd reason, something or someone here at home could have done something by accident before I got a chance to bring it too school, or maybe even something at school could have happen, most likely when i wash the test tube the droplets from the schools water effect the water. The pond has seemed to dissapered after the testing and then it reappeared in a few mornings after that. The pond is weird that way it always comes and goes except it's here all spring which makes sense.

Action Plan - Kars Village well water
Thursday mourning I got water from my tap and then I tested it in science class that same mourning.
I collected my water from my tap water in kars village (well water) thursday mourning before I went to school. Later that mourning in science class I started testing my water. I did all the tests and most of them showed a good result. The only test that I got a poor result from was dissolved oxygen. My water according to the tests shows that is has good coliform, phosphate and nitrate levels.
If there was a big problem with my water I would first make sure there is accually something wrong with it before saying anything to anyone and to make sure I would send my water in to get it professionally tested. If I got it back and there was something wrong with it I would contact the city of Ottawa.

Action plan creek water in Stittsville
How the water In poople creek looks for the one pond I went to.
I went out at 5:00 am to poole creek and got my water sample from a pond. Just by looking at it I new almost nothing would react with it. When I got to the class room I was happy with what I saw becuase I estimated that some of those chemicals were not going to work out for mine. The reason it was so dirty was becasue it was not moving and animals would drop fecal matter into the pond. This pond turns into ice fast there was a thin sheet of ice when I was there and it's not even winter time yet. In the winter the ice is soo thick you can skate on it. I was not sure if this could some how have any sort of effect on the chemicla reactions. Im just happy that I have city water and If I found anything I would probably call the Ottawa water place to get my water tested for any dangerous chemicals.

An unfortunate coincidence
a heart breaking story filled with sorrow
My water is pretty boring. I guess this is good because it is very drinkable and has no problems that my tests could bring up. All five of the tests I did gave me good results; my water is most definitly drinkable,
If my water had a problem i woudl go to the ottawa water thing and get a free water test in my water. If the tests came back fine i would know it had been my own lab mistake. If by some chance their tests showed that my water had something wrong with it I would inform my parents and then the city of Otttawa. Since I am on well water the chances of my neighbours having water problems too aren't very high but i would probablm get them to check their water too, just to be safe,

Action Plan for My Well Water
My well water is generally acceptable for household use.
Tests for coliforms, pH and nitrate raise no issues with regard to use of the water for bathing and cleaning. If my water sample had been collected from a lake or pond, the poor dissolved oxygen content might be insufficient to support aquatic life and the fair phosphate content might promote plant and algae growth. Fortunately the household use of water does not require the support of aquatic life and household water is not allowed to stand long enough for the growth of plants and algae to occur. The biochemical oxygen demand of my water is rated good. This suggests that the bacterial consumption of oxygen in my water is not excessive and therefore probably of no concern. Although my water appears to be acceptable for household use, we take the precautions of sterilizing the water with UV light and softening the water before using it. As a further precaution, we pass the water through a reverse osmosis filter before it is used for drinking.
If we discovered that our well water was not fit for household use, we would report the problem to the City of Ottawa. The city would hopefully conduct environmental studies to determine the cause of the water problem and identify the best solution to the problem.
