WHY WOULD I WANT TO CREATE AN ORGANIZATION ON ZAZENGO?

Would you like to use a FREE, shared online platform to inspire, manage and track your members IMPACT?

Using Zazengo will give your organization a way to leverage the power of your ecosystem. Your members will become producers, marketers, and consumers of your brand by telling their story, inviting their friends along and demonstrating their impact.

Your organization will be able to generate reports based upon location of member activity by analyzing a constantly updated set of variables, such as the number of users; the age, gender, and location of users; measurements of user involvement; user interests and preferences; and how, where, and why users volunteer.

Maintain your branding with a simple-to-use system of widgets and tools for personalization.

Finally, Zazengo is a source of revenue for your organization through our shared revenue model.

HOW DO I CREATE AN ORGANIZATION?

You will first need to create a personal account on Zazengo (or log into your account). 

Press the Create tab.



Click Create an Organization.
 
Enter Organization's name. This will be the title used to identify your organization.

Short description. This is one sentence that sums up your Organization. It is displayed in the large banner area within your pages. Maximum 200 characters.

Overall description. This will be displayed on your home page. Use this area to go into detail about your Organization.

Location information. Your Organization's location is important so that you can be easily matched with people in your local geography.

Upload your logo. This will be displayed on your Organization's home page along with project and campaign pages associated with your organization.

Select a Flash Header color. This will appear in the banner area, which displays your impacts.

Custom domain. You may choose to enable a custom domain for your Organization. You will be able to customize part of the interface and create a unique URL for your members.

Display options. Allows you to control the order that projects and campaigns associated with your organization are displayed. You can also choose to limit the TagCloud on the Explore page to only projects associated within your organization.

Project approval. When a project is associated with your organization, your logo will show up on the project header area. You will receive an email each time a project associates with your organization. You can choose to approve all associations first, or automatically allow association.

If you select custom domain:

Choose domain name. This can be letters and numbers. The full domain name will be available at http://YOURORG.zazengo.com.

Logo for top left corner. This logo will appear on every page associated with your custom URL in the upper left corner. It will replace the Zazengo logo. The image needs to be in GIF Format and should be 151 pixels wide by 79 pixels tall to fit properly.

Tagline. You can replace Zazengo's tagline "The Quickest Path to Action" with your own wording.

Enter theme colors. Enter hex color for Main and Highlight color.

Site home page. Default (checked) is to have your custom home page URL redirect to your Organization's profile page. If you uncheck this, you will have the ability to create a custom home page which requires HTML knowledge.

Terms of Use. Please be sure to read the Zazengo Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. There are specific organizational requirements that apply. Click the check box to indicate your agreement.

Click "Create Organization."

You will receive an email from the Zazengo administrator informing you of your organization’s approval.

You can now refine and fine turn your organization through the edit function off your organization’s profile page.

WHY IS ZAZENGO FREE FOR ORGANIZATIONS?

Our goal is to provide a platform that is free and easy to use so everyone can benefit from our services.

Best of all, Zazengo can be a source of earned income for membership-based organizations that engage their members to participate and use our platform for organizing projects and initiatives in their own communities.

Instead of paying for a tool to track members’ action, Zazengo generates revenue through advertising and new opportunities for partnership with cause-oriented media and existing partners.

As the hosting provider for the platform, we keep 50% of the advertising revenues to cover our expenses. The remaining 50% is then shared with Organizations that use our platform.

This revenue share drives interest in usage of the Zazengo platform and rewards those organizations that are most active.

HOW DO ORGANIZATIONS EARN REVENUE?

WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN AN ORGANIZATION USES A CUSTOM DOMAIN?

An Organization can create a custom domain. This will appear as ORGNAME.zazengo.com.

With this feature, Organizations can remove the Zazengo logo from the top left and place their own logo in its place.

You can remove the Zazengo tag line, "The Quickest Path to Action," and replace it with your own tagline.

Create a site home page (will require HTML knowledge), select a header color and a link color. Check if you'd like to receive a copy of emails sent to support regarding your organization and add customizable text to the Welcome email.

All of these options are included with the custom domain feature.

CAN AN ORGANIZATION CHANGE THE BACKGROUND COLOR AND REMOVE THE ZAZENGO LOGO?

Yes. Organizations can change the background color and remove the Zazengo logo.

When creating an Organization, check the Custom Domain check box. You will then have the ability to set colors and upload a logo - including your own tagline.

You can also press Manage Organization (under Organization Tools) > Edit > Custom Domain to edit this area.

WHO ANSWER THE ORGANIZATION'S FEEDBACK AND CONTACT EMAILS?

If you select the Custom Domain feature for your Organization, you can choose to receive a copy of the feedback / contact emails regarding your Organization.

Zazengo's support team answers the emails and will copy and /or forward the email to the Organization leader for further follow-up if needed.
